Liz Cowles has 20 years of industry experience, and joined A&I in 2001. She provides strategic leadership focused on ensuring we deliver on our mission promise to provide personal, responsive, quality service.

Liz is responsible for leading business and organizational development strategies and directly oversees the company’s marketing and human resources initiatives. These include activities such as employee engagement, leadership development, coaching and mentoring, design and execution of programs and policies, change management, strategic business planning, communications, business opportunities, branding and product R&D.

She also serves A&I’s single employer and Taft-Hartley clients. She ensures client satisfaction, solicits customer feedback and incorporates strategic solutions to enhance the A&I experience for our customers.

Liz’s career with A&I started primarily in benefits administration in the self-funded commercial and Taft-Hartley market in claims administration, including processing, supervising, systems administration, reporting, and planning for and executing operational enhancements and technology implementations. She coordinated with vendors, such as large case management, stop loss, PPO and PBM’s, brokers, consultants and wellness service providers.

Liz has been an A&I Employee of the Year, and she served as administrator for WLT, A&I’s claims software program, and chaired the WLT Client Roundtable Meeting at the annual WLT User’s Conference in 2005 and 2006. In 2011 Liz served as a speaker at the Trustees and Administrators Institute and Annual Conference for the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.

She is a member of International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, Society of Professional Benefit Administrators, Society for Human Resource Management, Portland Human Resource Management Association, and American Marketing Association.
