A&I’s very own Jennifer Schmidt featured as a 2014 Purse-o-nality at Girls, Inc. Power of the Purse event!

For the last eight years Girls, Inc of Northwest Oregon has hosted a Power of the Purse “purse-o-nality” fundraiser event, in which strong female leaders in the community are paired with a dynamic Girls, Inc council member, and local designers. Together, they create a one of a kind handbag that best represents their personalities! The handbag is then auctioned and sold during a glamorous evening fundraiser event.

Jennifer Schmidt, of A&I Benefit Plan Administrators, Inc. has been a supporter of the Girls, Inc mission for quite some time, and this year she was featured as a “purse-o-nality”!  Jennifer was matched with Carol Risley of Carol Risley Handbags and Girls Council Girl Paige, a 5th grader and member of the Girls Inc. CommuniCARE team.  The handbag that Jennifer and Carol designed was sold for $2,000 and the total amount raised during the 2014 Power of the Purse Purse-o-nality fundraiser was $292,255!

A&I Promotes Carla Fitzsimmons to Vice President of Operations

Portland, OR – Carla Fitzsimmons has been promoted to Vice President of Operations at A&I Benefit Plan Administrators, Inc., a Third Party Administrator based in Portland, Oregon, which offers a complete line of employee benefit plan administration services to single employers, associations and multi-employer Taft-Hartley groups.

Fitzsimmons joined A&I in March 2011, with 25 years of experience in Information Technology and leadership. She has been overseeing the Information Technology team and has been an integral part of strategic business initiatives that advance A&I. Fitzsimmons has worked in a variety of industries, including healthcare, banking and wood products.

A&I Announces Shared Administration with Premera Blue Cross

New Taft-Hartley Service Offering

A&I is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Premera Blue Cross, on behalf of Inlandboatmen’s Union of the Pacific National Health Benefit Trust (IBU Trust), based in Washington State. A&I and Premera agreed to a shared administration service model. This enables IBU Trust participants access to the Premera and Blue Card provider networks, while allowing the health plan claims to be adjudicated in the Trust office at A&I.  

It is unique for Premera to collaborate on administration with a Third Party Administrator. A&I’s long-standing reputation, technology, claims adjudicating capabilities, and customer service model make it possible to bring this service to Taft-Hartley clients. “We are really pleased about this exceptional opportunity to collaborate with Premera, and offer the Taft-Hartley marketplace a new service.
